At The True Gem, our mission is to build a community that changes the way the world sees jewelry through the power of integrity, sustainable and eco-conscious practices, and valuing people and the planet over profit.
We as a company believe wholeheartedly in bringing forth meaningful change, holding ourselves accountable, and creating a culture to be proud of. Therefore we have publicly shared our 2020 efforts and our initiatives for 2021 while recognizing there is always more work to be done. We will continue to keep the conversation open, offer full transparency, and share updates on our perpetual journey to become a business that puts action behind its beliefs.
We have always pledged to be a company that is unassociated with labor trafficking, human rights abuses, or poor environmental impact. The True Gem is proud to be a company that is fair, unbiased, and unyielding in the belief that everyone has equal value. Yet every year, 12 million girls are married before they turn 18. That is one girl married every 3 seconds, robbed of her future, and put at risk of violence, ill health, and trapped in poverty. But change is possible, and The True Gem is proud to contribute to this very important cause by partnering with VOW for Girls! With every purchase of a TrueGem x VOW band, you contribute to the positive outcome of girls’ futures.
Carbon Credit Capital is a B-CORP, 1% for the Planet organization that has been working closely with The True Gem to assist in the calculation and measurement of our carbon footprint! Being a people and planet over profit company, it is one of our top priorities to offset True Gem’s carbon footprint and to eventually be able to offer carbon-neutral products. Since publishing our 2021 Initiatives earlier this year, our team has been hard at work measuring and assessing our carbon emissions.
We believe The True Gem company is more than just another jewelry store. We believe what sets The True Gem apart from the masses is not just our eco-friendly, sustainable jewelry, but the fact that our company was built upon the values of inclusivity, community support, and celebrating love for all. We are fortunate and excited to embark on a new journey by forming a community of individuals who share the same beliefs as The True Gem and can help us change the way the world sees jewelry. And thus, The True Gem Ambassador Team for 2020-2021 was formed by 23 individuals determined to use their voices and image to help create a more inclusive world!
