Yet every year, 12 million girls are married before they turn 18. That is one girl married every 3 seconds, robbed of her future, and put at risk of violence, ill health, and trapped in poverty. But change is possible, and The True Gem is proud to contribute to this very important cause by partnering with VOW to End Child Marriage!

When organizations like VOW support community-based efforts to end child marriage, girls’ futures are brighter:
Thanks to generous donors that fund VOW’s staff and infrastructure, VOW ensures that 100% of funds raised from individuals, brands, and the wedding industry go directly to community-based efforts working to end child marriage. These efforts include: educating girls; engaging parents, community leaders, and religious leaders; providing job training; health education; and leadership training.
1 in 5 girls in the world is married under 18. Girls who marry before the age of 15 are almost 50% more likely to have experienced physical or sexual violence from a partner than women who married after 18. Over 60% of women (20-24) with no education were married before 18. If current trends on child marriage continue, 120 million more girls will be married in childhood by 2030.
Like VOW, we believe that every girl has the right to choose her own future, including when it comes to love. With International Women’s Day being March 8th, we felt this to be the perfect time to officially announce our partnership with VOW to End Child Marriage. We are excited and honored to launch three design concepts at various price points with the ongoing commitment to donate a percentage of these proceeds to their efforts.
