Since the start of The True Gem company, the Love Stories received by our community have been an integral part of who we are and what we stand for. Reading through these Love Stories has left our team feeling as though WE are the ones on the receiving end of it all. So thank you, from all of us, for being so raw and real. It has been a truly humbling experience for us to read your stories and celebrate with you in this way, and we are excited to now be able to share that experience with our very own True Gem community, the authors of the Love Stories themselves!

In October of 2017, I was burnt out on dating. I had been ghosted, cheated on, lied to, gaslit (although that wasn’t a term back then), and more while looking for someone to share my life with, and obviously, it wasn’t working out. I matched with David on October 14th, which happened to be my parents’ wedding anniversary. I told them this was my last dating app chance, that once I got his phone number, I was deleting Hinge and never downloading any dating app ever again.
As it would happen, David matched with me the very first day he downloaded the app. We were finally able to meet on October 25th, and within weeks, it was clear that he was my last first date.
He makes me laugh and smile even in my darkest moments. His top priorities are always a combination of me, our families, our puppy, our friends, and his job, but never himself. He is beyond generous with his heart, time, and attention. He is my biggest cheerleader, my rock-solid foundation, my favorite travel partner, and my absolute best friend. He loves all the weird, quirky, dark, and scarred parts of me that I was convinced no one ever would. He has made it easy, so easy, to envision a life, a home, and a family with him by my side.
The weekend before Christmas 2020, we took a trip out to Colorado Springs. David proposed during our walk through Garden of the Gods! He had even hired a local photographer to capture the moment and to take engagement photos afterward. At least once a day I study myVanessa Ring and say to him, "It's just so sparkly!"
