Since the start of The True Gem company, the Love Stories received by each and every one of you have been an integral part of who we are and what we stand for. Sharing Love Stories started out as a fun way of celebrating love and it was also our way of showing appreciation for our True Gem community by rewarding the “winning Love Stories” (even though they are all truly winners!) with a piece of jewelry or a monetary prize. Every giveaway we held in exchange for your Love Stories has left our team feeling as though WE are the ones on the receiving end of it all.
Our True Gem community has spent so much time and energy sharing their lives with us. They have poured their hearts out and shared incredible stories of adventure, heartbreak, failure, triumphs, courage and belief in love! These Love Stories are about celebrating real life, however imperfect, and taking a moment to remember why we do what we do every day. So thank you, from all of us, for being so raw and real. It has been a truly humbling experience for us to read your stories and celebrate with you in this way, and we are excited to now be able to share that experience with our very own True Gem community, the authors of the Love Stories themselves.

When we first got together, I wrote her letters about every aspect of my feelings for her. I shared them with her and they always were a bit of a symbol for us, for the start of our expressions of love to each other. While I had big plans to try to do a proposal with family and friends, COVID made me reconsider. Instead I decided to turn it into an "experience."
Callie's favorite part of D.C. is the monument walk. When she first came to D.C. we went several times to just spend hours walking through the monuments. So I decided to put together something combining those things. I put together a book of my old letters, some new "updated ones," and tons of pictures of our time together. Then we went down to the monuments, and walked together through each one as I read her the letters.
When we arrived at the Lincoln Memorial I read the final letter and got down on one knee to propose. After I put her ring on, she had me stay down as she joined me on the ground, and she proposed right back with a ring for me! It was perfect. - Danny
I want to take a minute to talk about our rings, because I am incredibly passionate about them. When looking for rings, we knew we wanted them to reflect our love and our values - and that meant we wanted to be as responsible about sourcing and do as much as we could to protect people and the planet in the process. I felt that if we had the capability and privilege to do better, we had the responsibility to do better.
The True Gem company was our answer. My center stone is moissanite, responsibly sourced from a team we trust to pick only the best. My side stones and pavé are lab-grown diamonds. The gold is completely recycled yellow gold. Danny's ring is also completely recycled gold with a black rhodium coating.
My custom ring, made by Jordan at The True Gem is a work of art. I am completely obsessed with it, and it only makes it more meaningful that no one was harmed or exploited in its construction. While there is always pollution from mining metals, getting it second-hand protects the planet as well as mining communities that are often exploited.
I want to be clear that I don’t judge anyone who did things differently than us. Everyone has their own situations and paths. I just feel so passionately about this, that I wanted to share! Thank you, Lynne and The True Gem Team! We love you! - Callie
